Well it’s about time I blog again before Mr T hits the big 3 months in another week or so.
Things here have been racing along as usual, it’s right what they say about how fast the time goes once you have kids. It’s hard to believe that one year ago we were right in the middle of ivf, and really at a crossroads with no idea what was about to come our way. It’s been a rough ride since then at times, but filled with so many blessings and blissful moments to make it all more than worth while.
Mr T is now such a chatterbox, he’s such a happy, smiley kid and the way his face lights up would melt anyone’s heart. This weekend just past was filled with family and a party on Saturday night and he was just the star. He’s really found his hands now and spends ages just staring at them – flexing his fingers over and over with such an intense look of concentration on his face. Today he took hold of one of his toys for the first time, and brought it to his mouth. He’s sucking his fingers and hand a lot more too, now that he’s figured out how to get them in the right spot every time. Which is great because he’s always been a very sucky baby and now if the dummy falls out he’s got an instant replacement. We’ve got his appointment with the ENT specialist on Wednesday which will be interesting to see what comes of it.
K had another lot of drama last week, our neighbour very nearly cut off her hand with an electric saw and K heard her screaming and had to jump our back fence in her socks to get to her. I won’t share the details as it’s pretty nasty, we haven’t heard yet if she’s okay or whether she lost her hand and there’s been very little sign of anyone at their house. So it’s really been an incredibly stressful few months of maternity leave for her! And now she only has 4 more weeks before she’s back to work which is going to be really tough for her. We have two unchecked lotto tickets that could make all the difference, so here’s hoping!
We’ve finally booked a trip with the airmiles we had left over from our big trip to Britain/Europe a few years ago, the day before they expired. So we’re off to the Gold Coast in April next year, a couple of days after Mr T’s first birthday. It’s the middle of winter here now and it’s suddenly turned really cold so beautiful sunny days at the beach are just sounding better and better.
