We’re okay

Thanks for the concern and emails after the recent quake here in NZ, we live a long way from the epicentre (a different island even) so we haven’t been affected physically although it has been pretty devastating watching the news reports and hearing the stories of those involved. Thankfully all of our friends and family are okay as well, some were right there but all got out safely.

It’s something that we get used to seeing on tv from overseas but not in our own country and as sad as it is, it’s also amazing to see everyone pulling together and helping in whatever way that they can. Even from way up here there are a number of people from my work that went down to help after the last quake in September and more will be heading off again in the coming days – it is quite humbling seeing everyday people practically begging for the chance to be able to help. The kiwi spirit is definitely alive and well.
