It was lovely *cough*Before we began
The Parrots - even the cat tried to peel them off and get rid of them
Stripped and ready to go! I swear that horrible paper was superglued on - it took sugar soap, wallpaper stripper AND a steamer to get it off. And let me tell you, working with a steamer in hot, sticky, 30 degree celsius weather is no fun... we were so happy to get to this stage!
Ta da.. the green colour is slightly brighter in real life but with the lighting in the room it was hard to capture. The funky change table we got very early on from an auction website - we just love it!
The cot is from K's sister, and the drawers were mine when I was a kid, we just repainted both and they came up fabulously.
This is officially THE spot to hang out in our house, we love this chair and as the room is pretty much the nicest part of our home now this is a great place to enjoy the afternoon sun. The quote we had made up for the wall and again, we are very happy with how it turned out.
We have gone for a 'kiwi' theme and were stoked when we found these matching letters, numbers and 'moa grower' growth chart.
our distinctly kiwi number set
Every kiwi themed room has to have a buzzy bee and mary lou toy too - kiwi icons since way back 🙂
And finally, our super deal baby hammock ($200 instead of $600 due to a scratch on the frame that we can't even find) - this will be going in our bedroom for the first few months.
A huge, huge thanks to K’s parents, we could not have done it without them – her Dad for all the hard work prepping, painting, teaching us how to wallpaper, and her Mum for spending practically the whole time sewing bibs and washcloths for us. Her Mum is also going to make up a cot quilt for us that we’ve designed using some of my photos printed onto material – photos to come of that in a few weeks!
