Guess what we did with $10k today? Yep that’s right, that photo up there is all we have to show for it… yet…! I was strangely excited that we have a new cooler bag this time, and K was quite taken by the smaller sharps container – it’s the small things really lol. I’m sure we’ve still got a big stash of needles and swabs somewhere too, so I guess we’re just adding to that pile now too.
The appointment went well, it was kind of surreal to be sitting back down with the nurse and going through all the different drugs, consents and so on again. In a way it felt like only 2 weeks since the last time, but at the same time it felt every bit of the 9 months it really has been. 9 months – ironic isn’t it?
Our plan is the same microdose flare protocol as last time, the approximate dates are below, although last time K responded so well to the gonal that the collection and transfer were a few days ahead of schedule.
Day 1 – 7 June 2010
Start BCP – 8 June 2010
Last day of BCP – 2 July 2010 (tomorrow – eek!)
Start twice daily buserelin injections 50ug – 5 July 2010
Start daily Gonal-f injections 300iu – 7 July 2010
Blood test to check response – 12 July 2010
Expected week of egg collection – 19 July 2010
Those dates are real soon people!!
We’re hoping this time will be ahead of schedule as well. K is on school holidays from tomorrow, and the 19th is her first day back at school. Probably the transfer will require her take a day off school but hopefully the collection at least will fall in the holidays.
I have a lot more thoughts to put down, but right now it’s nearly midnight, freezing cold (we’ve been out for dinner to celebrate the end of the school term, so we’ve had no heating going and my breath is turning to smoke) and I’m more than ready to crawl into my nice warm bed so they will have to wait.
