Thursday is the big day in IVF-land, well at least it’s the day we go pay the bills and get a shitload of drugs in exchange! K’s taking the bcp until then, and starts shots a couple of days after. I’ll post the plan after the appointment on Thurs, but we are doing the microdose flare protocol again and hoping for a similar result (initial numbers wise at least – obviously hoping for a better sticker and freezables too).

In the meantime we’ve been going about life, we were both straight back into things after our holiday. As fantastic as it was it feels like a lifetime ago! K has one more week of school and then a two week break. She’s been doing higher duties this term and done an awesome job at it, getting compliments from all corners and a lovely payrise to go with it. It was supposed to be just this term, but she’s been offered it for longer so we’ll see. Poor girl is sick right now, got a nasty cold/flu that’s going around so here’s hoping that clears up before the drugs all start.  My work has been crazy, busiest time of the year, short staffed, my boss left on Friday so I’m doing some of her team leader role while they find a replacement, stress stress stress! Of course it hasn’t helped that we’ve had a few nights of getting up at 2am to watch the NZ football team playing at the world cup – well worth it but so much lost sleep lol.

We’ve also had a bad run fur baby wise, Dogface had a sore on her paw week before last so we had to take her to the vet where they sedated her to wash it out and kept her in overnight. Then the end of this week we noticed that our princess cat Zoom was trying to toilet inside, after growling her a couple of times we clicked that this was actually probably a sign something was wrong. Sure enough she has a UTI so she’s been in the vet for a couple of nights. She’s back home tonight and a whole lot happier than she was when we took her, that’s for sure. They said it can sometimes be stress that causes them, and we’ve narrowed it down to a couple of weeks ago when a cat got hit by a car and ended up taking refuge at our place. We couldn’t catch it because it hid under our car, and ended up getting the SPCA out to pick it up but sadly it was too badly injured to be saved. Anyway, Zoom was around and a bit perturbed when this was happening so we’re pretty sure that must have been it. Finger’s crossed the third fur baby doesn’t come down with something next!

But to combat the stress, we bought a wii a couple of weeks ago off a workmate of mine who won it, it has been so much fun! Loving it!

This weekend just gone we went up to Auckland to see my brother and his family, and then K’s family which was really great. We don’t see a whole lot of my family, communication is not the best between us, but we had some really great open talks this time round which was really nice. I haven’t talked a whole lot about the baby stuff with my family for various reasons, but I basically got told off by my sister in law who said they really want to know which was kind of cool.We also played my new lego creationary game that I bought in Hawaii – you can’t get it over here and I know my nieces and nephew loved lego when they were kids so it was just the right group to be playing with the first time. It was so much fun, but I can tell we need to practise on each other a bit more before we play them again!

Really the point of this post was just to post more holiday snaps, I didn’t think I had much to say because I’m so tired, but there seems to be a fair bit up there – the tired must have removed my edit mode lol.

Anyway here you go with the photos:

Palm trees at Kailua Beach

Sharks Cove

Pretty Flower - What is it please?

Waimea Valley Waterfall

Our last night - flight was delayed and luckily our travel agent got hold of us so instead of waiting for 8 hours at the airport like the rest of the poor schmucks, we were hanging out on the beach watching this.

And just a few more from around home:

Sunrise over the neighbour's frontyard

Gemstone Bay - Coromandel

Sunset at the park
