Trigger trigger

No more buserelin, no more gonal-f. That’s right, tonight at 9.30pm is the big one – the trigger injection!

For anyone that knows what it means, K’s estradiol level was about 5000-something yesterday and it’s up to 10162 today.

We have to check in at 9am on Saturday morning for the egg retrieval. It’s so exciting but also a bit scary! We both went to acupuncture this morning, me to try to rid of a migraine and K for fertility and Mrs CMM said that if it’s a Saturday retrieval then today’s timing was perfect.

That means that the transfer will more than likely be either Monday or Tuesday next week. And of course, irony being what it is, guess which doctor is working those two days? Yep, Dr Workplace!

We are feeling very fortunate at the moment, we had originally planned to go to Samoa this week and had we done that we would have been right on the beach that was the worst hit with the tsunami yesterday. We’ve stayed there before and it’s just completely gone now, it’s just surreal.W e are devastated for the people there, it is such a beautiful place and a lot of the places like this one are small family run businesses – it’s so sad that it’s all just been wiped out like that and so many people lost.

And the earthquake triggered a tsunami warning all the way over here too, it happened to be the day I was working out of a satellite office in a coastal town and the office is practically right on the water front so we got evacuated just in case. It didn’t come to anything but made for an interesting day!

But yes, Saturday morning NZ time – welcoming all happy, hopeful, positive, eggy thoughts. Can’t wait to find out how many of them are in there (and coming out)!
