Understandably, K felt a little funny about running into my work at 8am to use the toilets to shoot up so this morning we added a new experience to the list – shooting up in the passenger seat while driving down the state highway. Now we’re getting creative!
K has been feeling pretty yucky the past few days, she felt like she was getting a sinus infection for a while and pretty flu like over the weekend. The last couple of days she’s been feeling nauseated and dizzy quite a bit. As well as that she’s had a nasty headache since about the time she started injections, and some tummy pain yesterday. We weren’t sure how much of this to put down to a) flu, b) drug reaction or c) end of term-itis. Today though she’s been to the doctor and told she’s got an inner ear infection/vertigo and low blood sugar. Here’s hoping it clears up in the next couple of days!
Even though she only had her first blood test yesterday, they called her in for a scan this morning. Our dr was on duty which was good and she has 5 follies on the right side and a whole bunch more on the left. There is one 17mm, one 15mm, a few 14mms and another group of 10mm ones – more than twelve in total. The doc was a bit concerned that there were two many and said that they may decrease the gonal-f dose but when the bloods came back this afternoon they seemed happy with it and said to keep going like this.
We’re walking a fine line right now of being relieved that the stims are working and worrying that their working a little too well. I think we were both really worried about getting a poor response, but we sure don’t want to be dealing with anything nasty and we sure don’t want this cycle cancelled for any reason!
Another blood test tomorrow, and they gave K the trigger to bring home and one of the nurses said the retrieval may be as soon as this weekend (eek) but time will tell.
Oh and she does have quite the lovely pattern of bruising coming out across her stomach now – luckily it doesn’t hurt but it is certainly impressive!
