Injections are go

7am on a Monday morning – what a way to wake up and start the day, K’s first buserelin injection. I know she was stressing a bit last night and this morning when we woke up, but it goes to show how far she’s come with all the blood tests and acupuncture to get past her needle-phobia and actually do this.

So yes, 7am this morning found us both sitting at the dining room table, K swabbing like a crazy lady and the dog, cats and I all sitting there watching.  They must have known Something Big was going on because they were all crowded around – either that or they were wondering why we weren’t feeding them yet.

The moment finally came and K took a big deep breath, held it for about 3 seconds, slid the needle in and almost yelled in surprise ‘hey it doesn’t even hurt’. All that stress over all those months for nothing! It stung when she pulled it out and still stings a little but not even as bad as a bee sting.

I am so proud of her, I know it was hard for her to do but I am so damn excited that it ended up not being that big a deal – especially with so many of the suckers still to go.’

This week is off to a good start after all!
