As I type this, our landlord is here fixing our hot water/shower issues. He talks to himself a lot while he’s working and there has been a fair amount of swearing and banging going on. He told K that he believes that Bunnings (big home improvement warehouse type store) has revolutionalised New Zealand. He is very big on DYI, it would be simpler if he would just get someone else in to get the job done properly but he is a good guy and he tries hard. The hardest part right now is sitting here in the lounge trying not to laugh when he drops things and starts swearing and berating himself – or when he randomly starts laughing to himself. Our dog is very perturbed lol. With any luck we may end up with a whole new shower by the end of it.
Anyway, 8DPO and remembering just how hard the tww is. Symptom watch has uncovered some gems such as sore breasts, definite cramping from 4dpo to 7dpo, possible heightened sense of smell (this one might be an overreaction though lol). Of course as usual it’s hard to say what’s normal and what’s not. There’s not really a lot to say about it but I feel the urge to blog anyway!
The first week has gone pretty fast really, which is good so hopefully the next week will too. I think it’s felt a bit different this time too, maybe it’s the big break we had I don’t know but we’ve been a lot more optimistic and it just feels right. Here’s hoping we’re not just setting up for a big fall, but this time round we’re just going with the flow.
At the moment we’re actually surprising zen about it all, if it doesn’t happen this time, it will happen soon. That’s the prevailing feeling in our house – it’s new but we like it.
Of course I don’t want to see what happens to that attitude if we get another bfn next week – I’d rather just have the good stuff from here on in thanks, no more character building, no more ‘when it’s meant to be, it’ll happen’, no more ‘good things happen to those who wait’.
It’s meant to be now, or next Saturday June 27th, thank you universe.
Speaking of zen, it’s our last yoga/meditation class tomorrow night. We’ve both missed a couple of classes when we’ve been sick, but we’ve really enjoyed it when we have been there. It’s been cool getting out of the house during the week to do something together too, it’s too easy to get carried away with the work week otherwise. We’re probably going to sign up with one of the instructors other classes and keep it up, it’s definitely been worthwhile.
