What did we expect?

Just to prove themselves as incompetent as we have to come to think they are, the clinic managed to stuff up our dates for testing etc.

They left a message last Friday to say that blood tests would begin on Wednesday this week, and scan on Friday. Now that would mean blood testing would begin on CD11, and the scan on CD13. Ummm… get our dates wrong much?

So I phoned them last thing on Friday, only to get an answer machine as usual. Thankfully someone called back about 5.30pm to apologise profusely and agree that yes there was a balls up (as she put it) and yes we should start testing on Monday (CD9) and scan on Wednesday (CD11).

To be honest we’ve come to expect these annoyances and learnt to double and triple check every piece of information they give to us. It’s scary though that there are newbies that are probably getting these same screw ups – but maybe not knowing about it.  I mean we’re old pros at this by now, so we’d already sorted what dates we’d be doing what – their phone call was meant to be simply a formality.

But, that’s enough of that (seriously what did I spend my energy on all those months we’ve spent on breaks if not complaining about clinic screw ups lol).

So yes, blood tests began today, scan on Wednesday and hopefully the insem will be in the weekend (fingers crossed).

Yikes! That has got to be the height of frustration. Hoping you have another clinic to switch to? Or a doctor in the practice who is willing to listen to a complaint (or two)?

Fingers crossed that the insem is next weekend and results in a… well, you know!

  2. my fingers are crossed for you!

TAKE CONTROL GIRL!! If you don’t take control nobody else will. It’s good you do know so much so you can keep them straight.

Good luck with your insem! My fingers are crossed.

We finally switched clinics after seeing too many mistakes. About a hundred pounds of stress fell of my shoulders when we did that. Our new clinic is amazing. Before I did the same as you and double checked everything.
    Best of luck!
