busy minds

This week hasn’t been so good in our household. We did alright through the weekend but it’s hit us now, and hard.

We got the phone call about 5pm on Friday, then we headed out for dinner. Dinner was out at Raglan (about an hour away) and was at a camp in a beautiful bush setting and overlooking the sea. We had a good time but we were pretty exhausted so left fairly early. To get back to the car we had to walk about 5 minutes down a bush track in pitch black darkness, but there were glowworms lining both sides of the track – it was so cool!

Saturday we had an incredibly lazy day – we basically just slept and talked and slept and talked, went to the river with the dog for a couple of hours and then went to the movies. I swear that dog is part seal, she will swim for hours (literally – she swam for an hour and a half on Saturday with barely a break to shake herself). Plenty of other dogs go in the water down at the river, but they only splash around – Tai swims around in circles for ages trying to herd the ducks and chase any waves from the occasional passing boat.

Sunday night we both came down with a case of sundayitis and the last couple of days have just seemed sad. We’ve got a million things in our heads, which I’ll try to blog about soon, but for now we’re just trying to concentrate on the positives and get through it. Today I was struggling to concentrate at work so I left early and took Tai down to the river and K joined us for a picnic afternoon tea – a great way to end a bad day!

It’s CD3 now, so we’re hoping for a weekend insemination next week. If it doesn’t work this time, we’ll have another review with the dr but here’s hoping it doesn’t get that far!

Pffpt. I sure hate to hear this. I’m glad that you have been able to get out and enjoy the weather now that Spring/Summer has arrived. I’ve never been to a bush camp or walked down a bush trail full of glow worms, but it sounds lovely. Remember the small joys all around you–even during the time of pain. Thinking of you.

I’m so sad for you. Hugs.

  6. Unfortunately, we all know the ups and downs of this journey too well. Look to each other for strength during the tough times. Good luck with the next insemination! Our fingers and toes are crossed for you!
