I can’t believe the two month break is now over and we’re back in the swing of things already. It’s CD3, and K has been chomping the clomid for the past 2 days. No drastic changes yet so here’s hoping it’s not too much of a mood accelerator for her!
We always have these grand ideas for our breaks; eat better, excercise more, stress less but life intervenes. This time round, we made a great start with our 7 day detox – got through to about day 5 and K’s flu-y bug took a turn for the worse. Off to the dr and back home with several prescriptions so the detox went out the window. For my part, I did finish and I do feel better for it but I don’t think K was able to get any benefit from it at all (or at least any that she did get was probably undermined by the antibiotics etc).
At the same time she hurt her thumb pretty bad, and did end up having an operation about 10 days ago. They were going to do a general anaesthetic but because she was still sick, decided it would be safer to do an arm block instead. Which didn’t work so well. They did give her some good local so she didn’t feel a thing and got to watch what they were doing at one point and even got a demo of how the muscles work (I can’t believe she asked – there’s a pe/health teacher for you – everything’s a lesson lol). Actually I’m pretty impressed she was able to watch – I would passed out for sure, general aneasthetic or not.
In amongst all that, I had the flu while trying to be K’s nurse, one of our cats had a stroke and consequently acted really weird for about a week, the puppy dog has been incredibly naughty by chewing the trellis on our fence among other things (and also irresistably cute when she wants to be).
Plus K had some major work dramas to deal with last week which turned out ok but made for a horrid couple of days.
So all in all, we’re really just feeling normal – not that super healthy, relaxed household we had hoped for. But it is all good, it’s still going to happen 🙂
In good news – it is spring, we have had some sunny almost summery days, this is the last week of school before K has 2 weeks holiday, and I am taking a week off for her 2nd week of holiday (and for her birthday).
It is well over a year since we have had a full week off work together so we are super excited 🙂
